If you picked up Saturday’s Sheboygan Press, you’ve already seen that I am leaving United Way to take on the Executive Director role at the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum.
My departure from United Way of Sheboygan County is bittersweet. I have greatly enjoyed my three and a half years here and learned more than I can name from both current Executive Director Tom Malmstadt and former Executive Director Jon Doll, as well as the many great colleagues I have also worked with. Because of their leadership, I am excited and comfortable taking on the next step in my career at the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum.
Both Tom and Jon have been conscientious career coaches for me, and as any young professional will say, that mentorship is invaluable. I appreciate their support and know I can count on both of them moving forward!
I also know that I leave behind a stellar group of colleagues who are devoted to helping others through their work at United Way. And now there’s an opening on the team!
The primary duties of the Director of Community Development position include the coordination and execution of the annual fundraising campaign, oversight and participation in the marketing and communication program, and creating linkages with the Volunteer Center. The Director leads staff, volunteers and partners to effectively communicate the mission and impact of United Way of Sheboygan County. The Director is the lead fundraiser and messaging expert for the organization.
For the full job posting, visit uwofsc.org. If you have a background in fundraising and a passion for helping people, I encourage you to apply.
Because the continued success of United Way is important to me, I will be staying with United Way through the 2017 Day of Caring on September 14 and my last day will be September 19.
And finally, thank you all for your support of United Way of Sheboygan County. We could not do what we do without you!
