United Way Elects New Board Leadership

Sheboygan, Wis – April 15, 2016

On Thursday, April 14, 2016, the United Way of Sheboygan County Board of Directors held its annual meeting and elected new Board Members and Officers.  Adam Payne, Sheboygan County Administrator, was elected President, and Kristi Jankowski, Senior Vice President of Innovation at Sargento Foods, will serve as Vice-President.  In addition, five new individuals joined the Board: David Bolland, Jackie Downs, Thomas Eggebrecht, Michael Lanser and Craig Yoder.

Tony Klockow, CEO of Kohler Credit Union, completed his tenure as Board President.  “Under Tony’s leadership, the United Way of Sheboygan County has made great strides to focus on community needs and help ensure community impact,” said Adam Payne.  In 2015, the Board completed a strategic planning process to improve its focus on education, income, health and outcomes.  While continuing to support 22 partner agencies that do incredible work, Payne said the Board also supported the establishment of Born to Succeed - an early learning initiative currently being piloted in the Plymouth School District; Food for Tomorrow - a collaboration of many organizations to increase efficiency and expansion of the food delivery systems; and PATH (Providing Access to Healing) - a program that provides school-based mental health therapy directly to students.  In addition, Welcome Baby, a new initiative of the Community Partnership for Children, will kick off in 2016 to be sure that every family having a child in Sheboygan County is aware of valuable resources to help the baby and family get off to the right start.

Adam Payne, Sheboygan County Administrator for the past 17 years, has served on the United Way Board of Directors since 2008. This past year he served as Vice-President of the Board, and served as the 2012 Campaign Chair.  Late last year Executive Director Jon Doll announced his retirement, and Adam is currently leading the search for his successor.  Payne said that with the help of a number of Board members, a new Executive Director has been selected, and an   announcement will be made next month.  “We have a strong and diverse Board of Directors and staff.  I’m honored to serve as President and work with our community partners to help make good things happen”.
