United Way of Sheboygan County has all kinds of reasons to celebrate! Last week, 35 non-profit project sites benefitted from the help of approximately 530 volunteers during the 2017 Day of Caring. The United Way building got some freshening with mulch outside and new paint for the Big Brothers Big Sisters office downstairs.
Day of Caring would not be possible without the support of many corporate sponsors. Those generous sponsors include BMO Harris Bank, Kohler Company, The Vollrath Company, Johnsonville Sausage, Muth Mirror Systems, Plymouth Foam, Sargento Foods, Rockline Industries, Mountain Promotions, Torke Coffee, and Coca-Cola. Thank you to our sponsors and the many volunteers from those companies that gave of their time last Thursday.
In the evening, after all the volunteers had finished their projects, we celebrated and had a great time at Taste Sheboygan yet again. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, the bands were hot, and the weather was perfect! Thank you to Randy Schwoerer for organizing this great community event and including United Way.
But the fun is not all over yet! Harvest for the Hungry presented by Kohler Company is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th. Proceeds from the event benefit United Way, while you enjoy a fabulous array of delicious gourmet foods over lunch, dinner or both! Watch uwofsc.org and this column for more information to come!
Finally, I must celebrate the great work that United Way of Sheboygan County and the funded Partner Agencies continue to do for the benefit of our community. Today is my last day, and I could not be more proud to be a part of this organization! You better believe I’ll continue on as a donor and a volunteer, even though I will no longer be an employee.
Thank you all for your support and well wishes!
