Partner Spotlight: Sheboygan County Food Bank

Liz Kroll, Food Bank Director with Sheboygan County Food Bank, shares the immense impact the Food Bank is making in our community.

United Way of Sheboygan County currently invests in the Sheboygan County Food Bank, including their weekend backpack program.

Sheboygan County Food Bank distributes food to food pantries and other partnering agencies in Sheboygan County. Those food pantries and partnering agencies then put food into the hands of our neighbors who need it most.

There is no charge for food, delivery, or partner agency network membership. The Food Bank stays true to their roots by serving local families in Sheboygan County. On any given day, about 11,000 of our neighbors in Sheboygan County struggle with hunger. Each month, over 70,000 pounds of healthy, nutritious, and free food is provided to ensure that over 3,000 families don’t go hungry.

Living with hunger is a real struggle that many around us are facing, including children – a demographic who should be investing their energy into playing, exploring, learning and growing. Given that about 5,000 children in Sheboygan County struggle with hunger, the Food Bank is looking to increase the number of children served. Through the weekend backpack program.

Thank you, Liz and the Sheboygan County Food Bank team for all the work you do for our community!
