Christina Singh, CEO with Boys and Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County, shares the immense impact their programs are making in our community.
United Way currently invests in the three following programs at Boys and Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County:
- Academic Excellence
- Healthy Lifestyle
- Good Character
For more than 25 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs have supported Sheboygan County kids by providing quality before school, afterschool and summer programs delivered by caring staff, at safe, welcoming facilities. Their members represent diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and faith backgrounds, and many face significant challenges over which they have no control.
Safe places plus trained staff and impactful programming equals better outcomes for our kids.
- By 12th grade, Club members report monthly volunteering at nearly twice the rate of their peers.
- When low income students attend the Club, they report receiving As and Bs more often.
- Club boys in 9th grade are more likely to exercise daily.
- 12th grade Club girls are three times more likely to express an interest in STEM careers.
The Boys & Girls Clubs strives to provide a Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through the door.
