On Thursday, September 17, Sheboygan County will truly Live United as we bring together business leaders, campaign coordinators, corporate associates, nonprofit partners and volunteers for Day of Caring – 2015 at the Sheboygan A’s ballpark.
With this article, we are warmly inviting area nonprofits, schools and parks to submit projects to be fulfilled on a first come – first served basis, through the upcoming Day of Caring.
Day of Caring is such an inspirational and motivational day as hundreds of corporate and group volunteers will canvas Sheboygan County to provide man/woman power to area nonprofits in order to complete looming projects that are beyond the scope of the staff size at these organizations.
Because we operate the Volunteer Center, first priority was given to Volunteer Center members to submit projects. Truth is, we have so many awesome corporate groups that are volunteering regularly these days that many projects within the membership network are completed. It’s a wonderful problem to have and it allows us to open this up to the entire nonprofit community.
So, to all nonprofits, schools and parks…here are some things to think about:
- Do you have a room(s) that need painting?
- Do you need something built?
- Do you have a landscaping project?
- Do you need park benches stained?
- Do you need rooms deep-cleaned?
- Do you need graffiti removed?
- Do you have a beautification project for your park?
You get the idea! If the answer is YES to any of these potential projects, please send me an email by June 22 sandy@uwofsc.org and I will send you the project application. Depending on the response, we may have to limit the number of additional projects we can take on, so please touch base with me as soon as you can.
We will start the day on Sept. 17 at 7:30 a.m. at the Sheboygan A’s ballpark with our Campaign Kick-off and motivational rally. Then, we will send our volunteers out into the community to complete service projects at roughly 20-30 sites in Sheboygan County from 9:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. We will then reconvene at the Sheboygan A’s Ballpark for a fun-filled After Party to celebrate the day.
Working together and fostering team-building within our community exemplifies the LIVE UNITED spirit and meaning.
