Message from United Way's 2018 Campaign Chairs

Letter from the Campaign Chairs of 2017-18, Dr. Jackie Joseph-Silverstein, Regional Executive Officer and Dean for the Southeastern Region of UW-Colleges and Dr. Joe Sheehan, Superintendent of the Sheboygan Area School District.

As educators, we know the power of providing individuals with the knowledge, tools, and support they need if they are to be successful in life and work. United Way of Sheboygan County breaks down barriers and closes gaps to find lasting solutions for the needs of individuals and families in our county. Even though we are on track to meet our campaign goal, we still need your help.

Your participation helps our partner agencies provide important resources to our neighbors, peers, coworkers, family members, and our community.

Many company employee campaigns are still in progress or just beginning so staff members at United Way of Sheboygan County are busy sharing the United Way mission with our loyal contributors and our donors-to-be. We understand individual donors are busy weighing their philanthropic options and we hope United Way of Sheboygan County is at the top of their list.

If you haven’t given to United Way yet, we are asking you to look inside your heart and make a generous gift that will provide assistance for those in need – right here in Sheboygan County.

Ninety-eight percent out of every dollar you give to the United Way of Sheboygan County stays right here in our county. Your contribution delivers vital human services through 38 programs provided through our 20 affiliated agencies and United Way’s two focus areas: Providing Access To Healing (PATH) and Sheboygan County Community Partnership for Children (SCCPC).

You may not be aware that our partner agencies and other nonprofits from the county go through a rigorous funding request process carried out by volunteers serving on our Community Action Team (CAT). This team of local community members meet regularly to discuss the greatest needs in Sheboygan County and annually review all of the requests for investments (RFIs). Collectively they make recommendations to the United Way Board of Directors to award funds and identify United Way’s Partner Agencies for the year. This transparent process ensures that your hard-earned dollars are invested in nonprofit agencies that are accountable for the outcomes stated in their RFIs.

It’s not too late to make a difference! Donate now – donation forms are available online; stop by our office and drop off your donation or mail your donation to our office at 2020 Erie Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53081.

You can choose to give a monetary gift or sign up to volunteer in the community through the Volunteer Center. Please join us in supporting the United Way of Sheboygan County!

Thank you being such a big part in the “We Attitude” that makes Sheboygan county great.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jackie Joseph-Silverstein, Regional Executive Officer and Dean for the Southeastern Region of UW-Colleges

Dr. Joe Sheehan, Superintendent of the Sheboygan Area School District
