Live United. Give United. #GivingTuesday

by Laura Schwartzburg

November 29, 2016 kicks of the giving season for all, and this year United Way of Sheboygan County has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of generosity worldwide. GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their communities and to give back in impactful way to the charities and causes they support.

To make it even more meaningful, generous donors, John and Kate Miller have agreed to match the first $5,000 in donations to United Way.

#GivingTuesday unifies charities, corporations, small business, and individuals from across the globe to show that the world gives as good as it gets. United Way of Sheboygan County is seeking volunteers and collaborators who share our goal of making this community vibrant, strong, and successful for everyone and for the future. #GivingTuesday is an excellent opportunity to donate your time, skills, spare change, and business platforms to heighten the spirit of giving throughout Sheboygan County.

To be a part of #Giving Tuesday, you can donate online at uwofsc.org or in person at 2020 Erie Avenue. All donors and volunteers are encouraged to share their giving story on the United Way Facebook page with the hashtag #GivingTuesday.

United Way of Sheboygan County envisions a community where all individuals and families can achieve their human potential through a quality education, enough income to support a family through retirement and good health. To achieve this, we strive to build a stronger and healthier Sheboygan County through effectively facilitating community resources, convening broad dialogue and focusing on the areas of highest need.
