Summer is a time for backyard barbeques, a time for lounging at the beach and a time for Thirsty Thursdays! Join United Way staff and volunteers on Thursdays June 26, July 24 and August 21 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Jake’s Café, 529 Ontario Ave. in Sheboygan to learn about United Way of Sheboygan County and find out how you can get involved.

Countless volunteers have been instrumental in the organization and completion of more than 300 company campaigns that are held each year. As we approach the 2014 campaign season, we are looking for passionate individuals to get involved on the campaign cabinet that has raised over $5 million in the past two years. 

These three events at Jake’s Café will offer hors d’oeuvres, libations and information about volunteering on the United Way Campaign Cabinet. These events are for:

• Those who want to learn about the struggles in our community and how we can work together to fight them.
• Those who want to get involved in the community.
• Those who want to meet new people and have fun.

If you fall into any of those three categories, you should come (and bring your friends)!
