A global day of giving is upon us this holiday season. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, with the goal to bring diverse groups of people together to help out their communities. In 2015, Day of Giving raised $177 Million globally through online donations and thousands of people volunteered their time.
United Way of Sheboygan County is working with #Giving Tuesday to help our community. Any volunteers or donations are greatly appreciated, and share your contribution on social media with the hashtag #GivingTuesday to spread the word! Visit our website for information about how to help.
