Enjoy a Fall Feast at the Third Annual Harvest for the Hungry

by Emily Rendall-Araujo

Fall is my favorite season in Wisconsin. Autumn smells, changing leaves and crisp temperatures are just some of the reasons I love fall. But the number one reason? The food!

After all the summer picnics, I look forward to fall comfort food: soups, pastas, pot roasts and pumpkin-everything. And I’ll be able to enjoy all those foods, and more, at the third annual Harvest for the Hungry.

Destination Kohler and Sargento Foods are again sponsoring Harvest for the Hungry on October 21, 2014. At $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 5-12 and free for children age 4 and under, this is a great opportunity for you to enjoy a Kitchens of Kohler Fall Harvest menu for lunch or dinner. Lunch sittings are from 11 a.m. to noon, noon to 1 p.m. or 1 to 2 p.m. and dinner sittings are from 5 to 6 p.m., 6 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. There will be raffle items and entertainment during all lunch and dinner sessions.

If you cannot find time to dine in, pick up a prepackaged meal to-go! Or better yet, take orders for the whole office or family and pick up lunch or dinner for everyone.

The menu is expansive, so get ready. Hint: you might want to come to both lunch AND dinner so you can try it all!  Here goes:

*Thai Pumpkin Soup

Chili Con Carne

*Roasted Fall Squash Salad with Romaine, Goat Cheese, Spiced Croutons and Apple-Cinnamon Vinaigrette

Autumn Greens Salad with Assorted Dressings

Mac and Brats

*Vegetable Lasagna

Dominion Valley Pulled BBQ Chicken Sliders

*Pork Pot Roast, Root Vegetables and Stewed White Beans

*Slow-Roasted Beef Tips with Pearl Onions and Baby Red Potatoes

*Fall Vegetable Medley

*Assorted Farmhouse Dinner Rolls

*Assorted Cookies, Cupcakes and Pumpkin Bars

*Included in the prepackaged to-go orders.
