Day of Caring Item Drives

NEW this year to United Way's Campaign Kickoff and Day of Caring, is this drive for specific items that support local nonprofits in meeting their mission.

Help support our community by donating the following items by October 1st.

Emerging Leaders is hosting a book drive for books needed for the Community Partnership for Children to be given out to young children.

Desired Items: Children's books (see list below). New children's books preferred - also accepting gently used children's books. Books can be ordered and mailed directly to the United Way office at 2020 Erie Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53081.

Drop off Location: United Way of Sheboygan County - 2020 Erie Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53081

Drop off Times: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 1, 2020


 

Family Item Drive for Family Resource Center

Desired items will support families that the Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County serves.

Desired items: Facial tissue, toilet paper, paper toweling, dish soap, hand soap, hand sanitizer, varieties of cleaning products, lotion, lip balm, feminine hygiene supplies, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes (differing brands outside of the Amazon list are welcome).

Drop off Location: Family Resource Center, 1500 Douglas Drive, Plymouth, WI OR virtually through Amazon Smile and ship items to the Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County! 

Drop off Times: The Amazon list will be active September 21st – October 2nd, physical item drop off times are welcome the same dates, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.


 

Thinking Putty for Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center

Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center is in need of thinking putty for our interview rooms! Children come to our CAC to participate in specialized interviews about abuse, and a little putty can go a long way to help a child feel comfortable talking about tough topics. Please consider donating sealed, new Thinking Putty for children to use and take home with them following their CAC visit!

Desired Item: Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty - https://puttyworld.com/ - any variety. Must be new in wrapper.

Activity Drive for Meals On Wheels

To make sure all is well at home for the homebound, Meals On Wheels implemented a Caring Callers program, where volunteers regularly call clients to check-in and see how things are going. This fall they will expand upon its current Caring Callers program, to add a “Virtual” visitor program, including sending enrichment activities to meal recipients.

Desired Items: Various activities for clients of Meals On Wheels to utilize. *Please note that all items must be G-rated.

Drop-off Location: Collection containers will be made available the week of Day of Caring for drop off at Meals On Wheels, 1004 S. Taylor Dr., Sheboygan. For more information or to arrange a different drop off arrangement, please email FreshFood@FreshMealsOnWheels.org.
