CHANGING LIVES IN SHEBOYGAN COUNTY

Imagine a community where children, individuals, and families thrive; neighbors care for each other; and we are proud of all our residents’ quality of life.

For more than 80 years, United Way of Sheboygan County has been working to make that vision a reality.

Our Mission: United Way strives to build a stronger and healthier Sheboygan County through effectively facilitating community resources, convening broad dialogue and leading through partnerships and collaboration.

Our Vision: A community where all individuals and families can achieve their human potential through education, financial stability and healthy lives.

HOW WE ACHIEVE OUR MISSION

We harness the collective compassion and resources of our community to improve lives!

Better than any other organization, United Way has the ability to bring together businesses, community organizations, volunteers, government, private foundations and nonprofit agencies around a shared vision -- improving lives.

By focusing the best people, latest research and innovative practices around achieving measurable results, we maximize the impact made for thousands of people in Sheboygan County.

Further strengthening United Way’s ability to create better lives for the people of Sheboygan County, we took over the Volunteer Center in the summer of 2014. Since then we have completed a strategic plan, integrated the Center into United Way’s branding and formed an Advisory Committee, which is a subcommittee of United Way’s Board of Directors. With this, we now have the ability to not only help fund numerous partner agency programs in the community, but we can also help provide volunteers to help advance the mission and the work of over 100 local nonprofit organizations.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE

United Way of Sheboygan County fights for the equity and inclusion for everyone in our community. Below is United Way of Sheboygan County’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Statement of Principle which outlines our commitment to building sustainable, inclusive, and resilient organizations and communities.

We value the visible and invisible qualities that make you who you are.

We welcome that every person brings a unique perspective and experience to advance our mission and progress our fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community.

We believe that each United Way community member, donor, volunteer, advocate, and employee must have equal access to solving community problems.

We strive to include diversity, equity, and inclusion practices at the center of our daily work.

We commit to using these practices for our business and our communities.

Working together we can achieve equity and inclusion for every person in every community.
